Liquid Amber Tattoo is a health board approved studio.  We have passed health board inspections with flying colours since we opened way back in 2001!  The health board inspectors like to make surprise visits about 2 times/ year. We welcome their visits as we run a super tight ship!  

All of our equipment and surfaces are cleaned with Optim 33TB which has a one minute claim against: Mycobacterium terrae, Human Coronavirus (SARS), HIV-1, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), Salmonella, E.Coli, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus aureus MRSA and other viruses & bacteria*, and can achieve a 99.999% broad-spectrum kill of vegetative bacteria in 30 seconds!. This is why you will see tattoo artists spray their stations down before and after every client and leave it for at least one minute before wiping up the spray. We use single-use covers for all the tattoo machines, wash bottles & clip cords. Single use bed drapes, ink caps, never re-use ink, and single use needles and tube are individually packaged and sealed until the client has arrived. Once used, needles are disposed in Biomed sharps containers and sent off securely for proper disposable.

All tattooing equipment is stored in a clean area and handled with gloves. Water used for cleaning and tattooing is distilled on site and sits in BPA free containers. Floors are swept and mopped with disinfectant  everyday. Ink spills or other potentially contaminated areas are immediately cleaned with Optim 33TB.

The sterilization equipment we use is medical grade; Germiphene checks it monthly for proper functionality.
